The Need For Attention: At What Price?

I’ve been on social media for years and yes, my intent was always to attract readers but not at any price. In all this time, I’ve worked and when one works, one’s free time is limited, even if your work is writing as mine has been for many years.

It’s become clear to me that for some, the need for attention is insatiable. My thinking? These folks haven’t gotten much before social media became a mainstay.

Good press, bad press, as long as I get some’ the mantra of many. Donnie T, set the bar years ago and years ago, people began to follow it. What can I say that will make people notice me? What posts of mine will attract the most attention? What’s the formula for success in social media? Who are the influencers and how can I model my posts after theirs?

Now that social media is ingrained in the culture, I do hope people who use these platforms are beginning- at least- to question their own motivations.

The culture is cruel enough. We know that now.

Have a restful Sunday.
