Yours truly finishing a book proposal she’s pitching to literary agents interested in books about the culinary world. Mine zooms in on chefs, women chefs to be specific. This writer is also interested in those chefs that have helped these women climb their culinary ladders to success. Eric Ripert, chef/owner of the famed Le Bernadin in NYC is one of those chefs so I was pleased to listen to his interview on Alec Baldwin’s Here’s the Thing podcast on iHeart radio.

“You can fool all the people some of the time… but you can’t fool all the people all of the time.’ This good chef begs to differ. When it comes to fish, people can be fooled. In this interview, he delivers an education that fish lovers especially will appreciate considering the source. Chef Ripert is world known, his expertise in fish unparalleled and why his peers consider him a true master chef.

Do you know:

  • How to identify the fish you ordered in a fine dining restaurant?
  • In a sushi bar?
  • Are you sure that fish you’re paying top dollar for is organic and/or sustainable or is the fish it is advertised to be?
  • Do you know the number one rule when purchasing fish in a market, no matter how upscale that market is?
Alec Baldwin

To listen to Chef Ripert chat up all things ‘culinary’ with Eric Baldwin, who knows a thing or two about that industry, click here and enjoy. I did.
