Up Against PayWalls
I know, I know, writers have to earn a living. I’ve been doing that, more or less, for 3 decades. It’s tough and in today’s world, even tougher. There’s so much to read, I’d go broke if I paid every time I wanted to read a blog post either here or on Patreon or Substack.
Broke, I’d go.
It seems to me that the blogs behind paywalls are often run by writers that bring their large reputations and followings to indie news sites. My question is for writers who are building followings, is putting your stories behind paywalls the best way to attract readers?
I have no solutions, only questions about this 21st century writing model many are following.
In these economic times that promise to get tougher, does asking your readers to pay for your thoughts the best way to hook?
Comments welcome-no paywall here to stop you.
